Juan Valdez (Philadelphia, PA) |
Juan Valdez shoved from early position for 730,000 (just over ten big blinds), with action folding around to Kevin Tran on the button. Tran would verbalize a call, with Frederick Ferrell thinking long and hard in the big blind. Ferrell would eventually push his cards towards the muck and the hands would be tabled:
Valdez: A♠ 2♠
Tran: A
♥ Q♠
Flop: A♣ Q
♦ 4♣
Turn: 10♠
River: 10
♦
Ferrell did mention that he was ahead of Tran pre-flop, but everything would of changed once Tran flopped two pair. The hand was good enough to eliminate the one time Day 2 chip leader in 14th place ($4,189).
