Big Stax 300 (Day 1B): Team Kitten Doubles...Then In Trouble

Level 8 (Blinds 400/800/100)
Total Day 1B Entries: 368

Walking over to Table 71, Abe Faroni would be getting his things together pre-flop, as he was all-in for less then the opening raise from Kevin Grabel.  One other player came along, and the three would see a flop of 53 7.  Grabel would lead out for 7,000, with his opponent making the call after a few moments of thought.  The dealer would place the K♣ on the turn, and this time Grabel would put together a large assortment of chips (mostly 5,000) and dump them across his cards (~ 23,000).  His opponent would shove his remaining stack across his cards, and Kevin would be at risk after making the call.

Kevin would be in trouble when he saw his opponent turn over K Q, having flopped the flush.  Grabel would have outs to win, turning over A 10♣ (Faroni was drawing dead).  The river would indeed bring the 2, as the sound of a fist hit the felt (not Kevin's).  Grabel would river a higher flush and double up to 72,000.

It was only a few minutes later that Kevin would walk up to the media table, telling the story of how he just busted.  Grabel took the 72,000 he won and ran KxKx into the AxAx of Greg Fishberg, making Greg one of the chip leaders in the field.
